You may have seen these cute flip flops that are custom made in school or team colors. Well, now you can make your own pair. Great to do as a squad project this summer.
See Photo.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 30 - 40 minutes
Here's How:
- Cut the different colored fabric (school or team colors preferably) in strips approximately 5" long and 1/2" wide.
- Starting with your first color, tie the strips on the straps of the flip flop.
- Use a square knot or double knot to tie with.
- Alternate colors as you like.
- Trim any long strips or adjust the length of them all to suit the look you want.
- Wear and enjoy!
Tips:
- Use bias tape if it's available in your colors. It's already the perfect width and reasonably priced.
- Use solid colored flip flops if you can find them.
- Think about how the other colors will show up on the color of your flip flop before you buy them or the fabric.
- You can use the same strips of fabric to make a coordinating hair accessory.
- Great project to do with your whole squad to cut down on the cost of the fabric and have fun.
