A very fun video game for cheerleaders or wanna be cheerleaders. If you're looking for a game that not only emulates cheerleading, but also is targeted to them, then Let's Cheer is for you. Being the only cheerleading game made for the Xbox 360 Kinect, there isn't really anything to compare it to but I do like the fact that they included the voice sensor and the fitness angle to the game. The Kinect seems to be very accurate at detecting motions and voice. Although there is no storyline, there really isn't a need for one. The game can be played in single or multiplayer mode and will keep you busy practicing, training and competing. The game play and mission of the game makes it a very positive experience for young people.

The Basics

Three loud cheers are in order for 2K Play as they have released their new game called Let's Cheer! It's the first cheerleading game exclusively for Kinect™ for Xbox 360® that has cheer enthusiasts keeping the beat, breaking a sweat, and earning spirit stars! Now available the game is a must have for all cheerleaders or wanna be cheerleaders. Cheer enthusiasts will learn to master moves like the High V and jumps such as the Toe Touch, resulting in a controller-free, full-body cheerleading experience. Whether cheering on the field of a varsity football game or dancing their hearts out in a national cheerleading competition, players will be challenged to keep the beat, break a sweat and start earning spirit stars! The game advances from easy level to difficult levels relatively quickly and there are many new items you can unlock such as new routines, squad captains and uniforms.

With Let's Cheer you can forget about using the controller and instead you can use your hands for holding your poms. This first ever cheerleading game for Xbox Kinect allows you to master and show off your cheerleading skills while trying to make your way to Nationals. It also allows you to say or shout your cheers with the voice sensor while you're being judged. So, you'll definitely want your spirit to shine. Real routines are included and have been choreographed by professional cheerleaders. As the game progresses you can focus on your fitness and see how many calories you've burned while you perform.

Game Features

  • Learn real world cheers and competitive routines choreographed and motion captured by professional cheerleaders.
  • Master basic cheerleading motions like the High V, Broken T, or Right Punch to more advanced, combination moves including the Blade Cap and Touchdown Sway.
  • Show off your skills with controller-free, full body cheerleading jumps like the Toe Touch, Double Hook and Herkie.
  • Perform, compete and get your heart pumping to iconic, licensed cheerleading songs and popular cheer dance hits.
  • Cheer voice recognition technology rates your spirit level and makes sure you stay on count. Earn spirit stars to rank-up, unlock new routines and advance all the way to Nationals.
  • Multi-player mode encourages friendly competition and team work.

Intended Market and Over All Impression

This game is ideally for the younger female audience including cheerleaders and anyone that wants to be a cheerleader. It's expertly done and can actually be used for fitness as well as practicing your cheerleading moves, jumps, voice and routines. Let's Cheer does offer a positive message to young people in that it stresses the importance of practicing and training before you compete. I do have to mention that some of the songs lyrics are a bit inappropriate for very young children, but I'm not sure they will even be paying attention to them and it's nothing worse than what they would hear on the radio or TV. Over all the game is flashy, bright and fun -- just like cheerleading.
